Y0 d00, are you going to feature any writings up on this here site, yo? I figure why stop at a comic site when it can become a creative nexxxus. _________________

Word to that broheaf, I do believe that I'm going to open that up. I think I'm going to set up something along those lines... I think I want it to have the ability to have user contributions.
Brrr... I'll flush it out tonight.

I believe Abraham Lincoln said it best when he said "Urrrnnffff" (That was the sound he made after he was shot. Seriously though, user submittedness would be pretty hotgunz. Or steakknives, whatever you prefer. _________________

I'm gonna point Marco (FableForge) to this line of thought, he's deep into code... He may be able to help us out logistically. _________________ I run this bitch!

Yup, whatcha need? I can get. Or build, whatever the case may be.
The general idea is to let users submit their own stories for the The World Explodes comic? _________________

Sort of. Users being able to submit stories to a story area. Said area would index the stories and people could sift through them and read them. It could be done with a forum, really.
At least that's how I see it. _________________

Yeah, think kind of like a cross between MySpace, Erotic Fanfiction, and Somethingawful...
Only not erotic, and dumb. Ok, I still like SA...
I was thinking more of a portal, rather then a typical blog format, considering you'de be drawing on multiple users, the mainpage can't be like a typical blog, one post gets bumped up to the top of the page... I'de like it to be more similar to a site for a newspaper, allowing multiple different posts or genre's on the mainpage, perhaps linking back to a profile or site... that kind of stuff.
TWE fiction though... that's an interesting thought. _________________ I run this bitch!

The forum Idea works, but I'de like to have more emphasis put on profiling the writers, like a table of contents in the profile, where it indexes every single piece made by them, as well as an option to report editing issues with each post.
A little link that goes underneath the post that says something like "Does this Post need Editing? Message the author!" _________________ I run this bitch!

Hmm..... .. from a first glance, looks like a multi-author, labels-enabled dynamic blog could do the trick.
An admin gets to choose who gets to write an entry. Those authorized by the admin get their own space to write their stuff. The main page lists all of the authors, as well as the 10 or so newests posts. Sure, all sorts of links and feedback to the authors could be provided per post. Not very hard, really.
Just give me confirmation that this is what you have in mind, and I'll whip up a little beta via blogger.com _________________

Look at you, mr. make it sound easy. I'm not even sure that the admin will have control over who writes. It'd be great if it had the forum infrastructure though... Where anyone can post, but the Admin would act as editors-in-chief, and the moderators would act as editors an a smaller sense. Anyone can post, but not everything can be posted. For example, as liberal as Pajina and I may be, I don't think it's good publicity to have literary nazi rallies on ones site. Seems like a bad idea to me. So mods and admin can veto posts. I mean, it'd still be pretty loosey goosey, and most everything would make it through, but in extreme cases it'd be nice to put ones foot down.
Also, the mods and admin can act as real editors in the sense that they would be able to proofread and make minor corrections to posts...
Am I making any sense what-so-ever? _________________ I run this bitch!

Hey, sorry I havent been around as much, its been a crazy crazy week...
Anyway, the choices are see are forums vs blog.
For the looks alone, I would recommend blog. If you dont want to control who writes, you could simply authorize everybody who asks for an account.. its no different from a forum where they have to register anyway. In either scenario you could edit posts in any way whenever you wanted to.
The main page would show the ten latests posts from everybody, and navigation bars on the right would link to all the authors. Each post would have a link to allow comments/feedback (kinda like my blog), and you could have a link in the header saying something like "Want an account to post here? Click here and get one". They click, they enter their email address, you send a blog invitation to that email address, and they're set!
Lemme know _________________

Well, I was fiddling with phpNuke with the theory that a content portal would be appropriate.
Well, after that I learned that the learning curve is incredibly steep. I mean INCREDIBLY steep. So much so that I jammed it on as a plug-in and now I can't do a goddamn thing with it.
So, after fucking with it for a good nine or ten hours of my time, I went back to just using Marco, cuz he's better at this then me.
If i set up a hosting plan, and a URL could you do the rest? Also, is there a blog that you prefer? Also, let me know. _________________ I run this bitch!
